'Wiki' For Learning

In Hawaiian, Wiki means “quick”. On the web, Wiki is a collection of collaboratively authored web documents. Wiki tools are great for collaborative learning and content development. They are usually easy to learn and use, and lecturers can use it with their students using the 'Wiki' module in IMU Learning Portal. You can also use Google Docs for collaborative document development and Google Sites for collaborative website development. Did you know that we have a “ real but silent member” of the museum?

The silent member is a female body from Germany which the museum procured in 2010 for teaching and learning of anatomy for various programs, including foundation courses for medical, dentistry and Chinese medicine. She has been the center of attraction to the students as well as visitors to the museum because of her virtuous act of donating her body for the benefit of teaching and learning of medicine.

Library “Product Highlight Of The Month”

Library organises product highlight activities every alternate month with help from PTS (Library Domain Expert) and the database vendors to create awareness and to encourage all library users to use the library e-resources. Below are the results of the information searching competition that have been conducted based on the 3 chosen databases:

These virtual labs train college students in basic laboratory techniques. Using specific scientific lab processes already used in food science, students practice the methods used by lab technicians and researchers in a variety of careers.

Web Tools For Flipped Classrooms
This online resource provides a collection of web tools that we can use for Flipped Classroom sessions.  Lecturers need to be able to understand how to embed technology into what they do. The technological side of it only comes into to play if you already knew how to balance pedagogical knowledge with content (subject) knowledge.

An online guide that explores research activities from planning a research to using information ethically.

e-Book on OER in Malaysian Higher Learning Institutions

This e-book explores the basics of Open Educational Resources (OER) and how several Malaysian Universities are implementing OER. 'IMU Webinar Series' is also mentioned as one of the OER contributions in Chapter 3 (Page 36). You can access the e-book in two formats:
